The world is not as you see it from your mortal eyes. It is infested with darkness, every day we see it change into something that was not intended. We are helpless to do anything, our orders are to sit and watch the world unfold before our eyes. We are obedient, observant, watchful. Each day we find our hearts ache as the mortals fall pray to the temptations of darkness.
My name is Cassiel. My existence is because of you. I watch you grow, learn, and love. I watch you hate, struggle, and die. I am meant to feel compassion but not in the same ways that you might. I am incapable of many emotions and actions that you feel and do daily. My feet may never touch the ground and my mind, body, and soul belong only to one for eternity. My life changed when I saw you.

Quinn was born to your typical family on a warm summer day. Her life was normal, she went to school, hung out with her friends, and enjoyed life. It was only when she turned 16 that things started to change. Quinn grew fascinated with religion, angels in particular. Something about them made her feel at home, something drew her closer. Her dreams shifted from the typical teen fantasies to more vivid dreams of what she could only describe as heaven. For years her family passed off these dreams as imagination. Quinn always thought it was something more; maybe even memories from another life. When her parents grew tired of her “lies” she kept them to herself.
“You said you wanted more, what are you waiting for?”
On her 18th birthday she moved out and attended the local college. It was the first time that she was on her own and could be herself instead of what her parents wanted her to be. Still she kept some things to herself. That was when she met him and everything changed. Dreams turned to reality and her life as she knew it was shattered. Quinn did not exist she was simply a shell. “I am Cassiel.”
